The big cycles

Bitcoin's ten-year path is usually read through halving-anchored cycles — the block subsidy halves roughly every four years, and each halving (2016, 2020, April 2024) has been followed by a period of expansion and then contraction. The narrative tying each dated peak and trough above to its context (macro conditions, adoption milestones, the halving) should be written from the fetched values, not asserted from memory. Frame past cycles as context, never as a guarantee that the pattern repeats.

And for the next 10 years?

What moves the price (drivers)

• Halving. Subsidy halves ~every four years; 2016 / 2020 / April 2024 (→ 3.125 BTC). The historical cycles above anchor to these dates. Supply context, not a price promise.
• Adoption. US spot ETFs live since January 2024; latest dated net-flow / AUM figure: ≈ $424.66M net outflow (2026-07-13, SoSoValue); spot-BTC-ETF net assets ≈ $74.79B (retrieved 2026-07-16). Plus corporate / nation-state treasuries.
• Regulation. EU MiCA (phased 2024–2025); France's AMF context. Factual, dated.
• Macro. Rate/liquidity cycle and gold as the store-of-value comparable underpinning long-horizon bull theses; Bitcoin also co-moves with risk assets such as equity indices — see the Nasdaq-100 and Dow Jones outlook.

How to read a long-term chart

Read a decade-long chart on a log scale, not linear — early moves look deceptively flat otherwise. Remember survivorship: you are looking at the asset that survived, and past cycles do not guarantee future ones. A chart shows where price was; the scenario band above shows only where named third parties think it could go.
