What Is ISOR Coin (Iran Strategic Oil Resource)? Facts, Risks and Where It Trades

By: WEEX|2026-08-20 01:30:42

ISOR is a Solana token that calls itself "Iran Strategic Oil Reserve" (some aggregators index it as "Iran Strategic Oil Resource"). Three facts first, because searches about this token usually get them backwards: the project's own website states in capital letters that "this is a meme coin, no intrinsic value, not affiliated with any government or state entity"; no oil ownership document, reserve audit or verified commodity backing exists; and ISOR is not listed on WEEX and never has been (checked against WEEX's public market APIs and the 2026 delisting register on 20 August 2026). This page is not a buying guide; it is a sourced answer to "what is ISOR", together with the token's real market state.

What ISOR is and what it claims

  • Identity: a Solana token with the official contract isuk5ibjQKg2Ms68gwCsUce2bL419tkiw2CjPHoRnkL (published on the project site isorgov.com and confirmed by GeckoTerminal), X account @ISORGov, and no disclosed team or company. No precise launch date is published; the first coverage clusters in late May 2026, and GeckoTerminal showed a token age of about two months on 20 August.
  • The claim: the site speaks of "the first sovereign-grade digitization of strategic crude reserves", a counter of "208.4B barrels under protocol" and a "$4.71 trillion" reserve valuation, and even describes the protocol as "independent of correspondent banking, sanction regimes, and legacy clearing houses" — a line we quote only as a red flag; independent outlets stress no such capability exists.
  • Reality per independent sources: Bitrue (May 2026) writes there is "no officially verified connection" to Iran's government or oil reserves, and the project itself denies affiliation; BTCC sums it up as "zero oil, zero government ties, zero real-world assets". Token utility? None — no staking, no governance, no redemption right, no technical whitepaper.

Important: several different tokens share this name and ticker

At least seven distinct contracts on Solana and Base are indexed under the ISOR name (three Solana and four Base contracts with separate Coinbase and CoinStats price pages), plus a completely unrelated project called "ISO Router Token" that pools under the same ticker on GeckoTerminal. The wildly different "ISOR prices" you may see mostly belong to these different tokens. The canonical contract is the one the project site publishes (above). A Coinbase price page is not a Coinbase listing.

The real market state: the numbers the project site does not show

Metric26 May 2026 (Bitrue blog)20 August 2026 (GeckoTerminal, canonical contract)
Price$0.00428$0.000006
Market cap / FDVabout $4.28Mabout $6,025
24h volume$9.02 (three transactions)
Total liquidity$4,575 in a single Meteora pool
Holders12,847about 2,995

In other words, the canonical contract has effectively gone inactive in under three months. One further reportable observation: on 20 August the official site still displayed the very numbers Bitrue published on 26 May (price $0.00428, 12,847 holders) — counters that look live but sat roughly 710× above the same day's on-chain price. That is a documented, checkable discrepancy; we make no claim about intent. The site's stated tokenomics (no tax, no vesting, no team allocation, "permanently locked" liquidity, roughly 1 billion supply) are backed by no allocation table and no independent audit, and its roadmap ("Hormuz settlement layer", "OPEC-aligned settlement bridges" for Q2 2026, which passed with no sign of delivery) contradicts its own meme-coin disclaimer — the clearest single fact in this file for a reader.

Where ISOR trades (and where it does not)

  • Solana DEXs only — in practice one Meteora pool with four-figure liquidity (BTCC; GeckoTerminal, 20 August).
  • No centralised exchange (Binance, Coinbase, OKX, Bybit, Gate, MEXC, KuCoin, Bitget) lists it.
  • Not listed on WEEX: no spot pair, no futures; no listing or delisting announcement exists, and it does not appear on WEEX's 2026 delisting register — i.e. "never listed", not "removed". This page offers no buy route.
  • CoinGecko carries no page for it (the relevant slug returns 404).

Risks, in the sources' words

  1. Sanctions-flavoured branding: BTCC/RWA Times name "Iranian sanctions exposure" as a concrete legal risk for international investors and describe a "massive legitimacy gap" and "official-sounding branding to cultivate unearned trust".
  2. No backing: no proof of reserve exists; the price is decoupled from actual crude benchmarks.
  3. Structural memecoin risks: the Bitcoin Foundation guide (June 2026) warns of sudden developer fund withdrawals, vanishing liquidity, fake contract versions, whale dumps and lookalike addresses.
  4. Near-zero liquidity: at $9 of daily volume, even small sales cannot execute without violent price moves.
  5. A legal point worth stating: the real Iranian-oil crypto sanctions actions (such as OFAC's designations of oil-smuggling networks) are separate cases; no source connects the ISOR token to them — and equally, the absence of a designation is not clearance.

Frequently asked questions

Is ISOR connected to the Iranian government or the national oil company?

No. The project itself explicitly denies any state affiliation and no independent source has verified any connection. The name and branding are a unilateral claim.

Can I buy ISOR on WEEX or a major exchange?

No. It is not listed on any centralised exchange, and it has never been listed on WEEX. The only market is one small decentralised pool on Solana.

Where is the ISOR price going?

This page makes no forecast, and no dated all-time high or low is citable for this asset; the dated data available (above) show a fall from $4.28M to roughly $6,000 of total value in under three months.
