The U.S. Air Power Buildup in the Middle East Is the Largest Since 2003
BlockBeats News, February 19th, according to The Times of Israel, the US has deployed its largest air force presence in the Middle East since the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The beginning of the over eight-year Iraq War was marked by a so-called "Shock and Awe" bombing campaign.
Now, the US is amassing forces in the region as President Trump considers strikes on Iran. The US has sent dozens of aircraft and multiple aircraft carriers to the region. These aircraft include F-16s, F-22s, and F-35s.
The US military buildup enables the US to conduct a longer-lasting military campaign than last June's strike on Iranian nuclear facilities using B-2 bombers during the Iran-US conflict.
