Tether's gold token XAUT has been recognized as an "acceptable spot commodity" by the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). After obtaining the relevant regulatory approvals from licensed entities within ADGM, XAUT-related services can be provided to clients within a compliant framework. Previously, ADGM had recognized USDT as an "acceptable fiat reference token," and this new recognition further expands the compliance coverage of Tether products within ADGM. Each XAUT token corresponds to one ounce of London Good Delivery gold bars, and holders can transfer and redeem physical gold on-chain. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that incorporating XAUT into the spot commodity framework marks an important step forward in the development of tokenized real-world assets.
