Binance regularly tests its employees' security habits, launching simulated phishing attacks each month by an internal red team to assess improvements in security practices. Those who fail must undergo remedial training. Binance's Chief Security Officer, Jimmy Su, stated that such simulated attacks have been conducted for three to four years. Initially, employees had inadequate security habits, but there has been significant improvement overall. Test results will be factored into employee performance evaluations, and employees who repeatedly fail phishing simulations will see their scores negatively impacted. Serious and repeated failures may result in the lowest possible employee scores and potential dismissal. Simulated scenarios include the red team posing as recruiters or offering free meeting invitations to collect personal information and test employee responses.
