Xpeng said today that it officially launched its robot production line, with its first advanced general-purpose humanoid robot completing automated assembly and rolling off the line autonomously.

The company described the launch as a step from research and development into production-line manufacturing for its robotics business. According to the announcement, the first unit was assembled through an automated process and then rolled off the line on its own.

Xpeng said the production line was designed in-house and that core processes on the line have an automation rate exceeding 80%. It also disclosed several hardware specifications for the robot, including 76 degrees of freedom and three Turing AI chips with effective computing power of 2250 TOPS.

The company framed the development as an industrial milestone rather than a commercial launch. Xpeng said the robot is expected to enter mass production by the end of this year, while market delivery is planned for 2027. It did not disclose production volume, pricing, customer targets, or the initial deployment scenarios in the announcement.

With limited additional verified background available, the update stands mainly as a company-stated manufacturing milestone in embodied AI. The immediate focus is less on current sales and more on whether Xpeng can convert technical and pilot-line progress into scalable production.
