Vitalik: Ethereum should build "shelter technology"

Vitalik expressed on social media that concerns about the expansion of government and corporate power, privacy erosion, and disorder on social platforms are intensifying, while Ethereum's role in improving real-life situations remains limited. He suggested that Ethereum should be positioned as part of building "shelter technology," which provides users with a robust space for collaboration and value management through open-source, decentralized technology, rather than solely focusing on finance or the pursuit of "disrupting the world."

Vitalik Buterin emphasized that the core of Ethereum lies in creating a "leaderless shared digital space" that supports long-standing digital arrangements such as multi-signature, markets, and governance structures, while collaborating with a broader ecosystem to enhance resilience against external pressures.
