Tudor Jones Calls for Strengthened Global Regulation of AI
Paul Tudor Jones wrote in the Wall Street Journal that AI could become a third superpower beyond the U.S. and China. He pointed out that employees from several major U.S. AI companies have recently warned that the rapid development of AI poses a threat to human society, believing that this threat is real and requires coordinated action from global powers. Jones emphasized that both countries should commit to establishing a timeline to control the development and spread of artificial intelligence in a safe, controllable, and understandable manner. He mentioned that if an AI model continuously reshapes itself, errors could lead to a mismatch between its goals and actual objectives, potentially causing harm to humanity and even catastrophic consequences. He noted that the new superpower (AI) would be unpredictable and limitless, with a scale that could far exceed existing great powers, urging the leaders of current great powers to prioritize AI safety.
