Swan Bitcoin CEO defends BTC against Ponzi scheme claims
Swan Bitcoin CEO Cory Klippsten stated that financial commentators lack sufficient grounds to label Bitcoin as a Ponzi scheme. He pointed out that critics like Nouriel Roubini, Paul Krugman, and Agustin Carstens argue Bitcoin is a Ponzi because it generates no cash flow and early holders profit from later buyers' investments. Klippsten countered that this reasoning would also classify gold, art, and collectibles as Ponzi schemes since they do not pay dividends or interest and rely on higher prices for gains. He emphasized that a Ponzi scheme involves an operator falsely claiming to generate returns and using new investors' money to pay earlier ones, while Bitcoin has no such operator or fraudulent activity.
