As a result of Russian shelling over the past six months, more than 300 gas stations have been destroyed in Ukraine. Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal reported this during the Hour of Questions to the Government in the Verkhovna Rada. He noted that these are significant losses for the country's economy, and the energy sector has been particularly hard hit. To meet the needs of critical infrastructure during the winter period, reserves of petroleum products are being formed in Ukraine. The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with businesses, is developing mechanisms for insuring military risks and creating a compensation fund. However, there is no separate item in the state budget for compensating losses in the energy sector. Government resilience plans guarantee funding for critical infrastructure facilities regardless of their ownership form. On average, Russia attacks about 100 gas stations per month.
