PwC: Global Data Center Investment Could Reach $32 Trillion Over the Next 25 Years
PwC's latest report indicates that global data center construction is entering a historic expansion phase, with total investment expected to reach approximately $3.2 trillion over the next 25 years. In the next five years leading up to 2030, global data center investment is projected to be around $510 billion. The report highlights that the growing demand for AI is creating multiple bottlenecks in data center construction, including power, equipment, cooling, racks, construction, and delivery. The real challenge lies in whether investments can be converted into reliable megawatt-level computing power. As the scale of AI infrastructure continues to expand, the industry requires a more unified full-stack coordination and delivery model to reduce the risks associated with the connections between different stages. Furthermore, PwC believes that full-stack data center coordinators could capture about 5% to 8% of value in total project expenditures. Based on the projected cumulative investment of $510 billion before 2030, this market corresponds to a potential opportunity of approximately $255 billion to $408 billion.
