OpenAI Launches $5 Million Fund to Support Research on AI Impact on Youth
OpenAI has launched a $5 million funding initiative to support research on the impact of generative AI on the emotional development, social relationships, and usage behaviors of adolescents aged 13 to 17. Individual projects can receive up to $1 million in funding. The application portal is now open, with a deadline of October 6, and selected results will be announced on November 13. OpenAI aims to establish an evidence base for the impact of AI on youth to inform product design and policy-making.
