Nvidia Plans $7 Billion Licensing and Investment Deal with Poolside
Nvidia is reportedly planning a $7 billion licensing and investment deal with AI coding startup Poolside. According to the report, Nvidia will pay $6 billion for licensing Poolside's AI model and will invest an additional $1 billion separately. Poolside's pre-money valuation has been set at $12 billion. Neither Nvidia's official announcement nor Poolside's public channels have confirmed details about the contract. Recently, Nvidia announced plans to build an AI compute infrastructure financing platform and mobilize over $500 billion in private capital. Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang views AI compute as an 'investable asset' and outlined a strategy to connect AI data centers and compute infrastructure with capital from financial institutions. Concerns have also been raised regarding Poolside's infrastructure plans, and the licensing agreements for AI model companies involve multiple conditions, making it difficult to assess the nature of the deal. Currently, an official announcement is needed regarding the scale and terms of the contract between Nvidia and Poolside.
