Kyivstar is exploring the possibility of participating in the creation of a national artificial intelligence infrastructure in Ukraine, evaluating investment options in data centers. The company's President and CEO, Oleksandr Komarov, stated that the request for building AI infrastructure comes from the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Kyivstar believes that Ukraine needs a sovereign AI infrastructure, which requires combining solutions from global providers with Ukrainian technologies. Komarov noted the availability of resources for developing and financing the infrastructure; however, specific investment volumes and timelines have not yet been disclosed. The operator is also assessing options for developing data centers, with investment decisions depending on capital expenditures and target indicators. In the second quarter of 2026, Kyivstar's EBITDA grew by 21.1% to UAH 8.3 billion, revenue increased by 27% to UAH 14.9 billion, and net profit for the first half of the year amounted to UAH 7.1 billion, up by 36.1%.
