JPYSC Begins Allocating 1 Billion Yen in Japanese Government Bonds
The yen-pegged stablecoin JPYSC has started investing 1 billion yen (approximately 6.41 million USD) from its trust assets into short-term Japanese government bonds (JGB). This allocation is made possible by adjustments in Japanese regulatory policies, which allow the management scope of stablecoin reserve assets to expand from deposits to include certain short-term government bonds and other compliant assets. JPYSC is jointly developed by Startale and the SBI Group, with SBI Shinsei Trust Bank acting as the issuer responsible for trust asset management and investment, while SBI VC Trade serves as the issuance delegate and electronic payment tool exchange service provider. In the future, JPYSC will support various application scenarios, including domestic and international payment remittances, on-chain foreign exchange markets, and settlements involving RWA and tokenized assets.
