BlockBeats News, September 2nd, Ethereum's EIP-7702 Protocol Becomes a New Target of Hacker Attacks, Causing Over $5.3 Million in Losses. According to the GoPlus Security Research Institute's analysis, the attacker carried out the theft through signature phishing, malicious upgrades, permission misuse, and other methods.
As one of the first platforms to pay attention to the security threats of this protocol, GoPlus has received requests for help from multiple users who were stolen from and has completed multiple in-depth security studies. To protect the funds of Web3 users, GoPlus announced that the transaction simulation API now fully supports 7702 security checks, which can accurately intercept various malicious transactions based on EIP-7702. The security browser extension will also soon launch relevant protective features.
