Film 'Killhouse' Earns 43 Million UAH at the Box Office
The film 'Killhouse' directed by Lyubomyr Levitsky, which depicts a special operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the GUR, and the SBU, has earned 43 million UAH in the national box office, attracting 222,000 viewers. This is one of the best performances among Ukrainian feature films. The share of Ukrainian cinema in the box office reached 12.2% in the first six months of 2026. From 2019 to 2021, the share of Ukrainian content was around 5%, rising to 9.8% in 2024 and 14% in 2025. In 2025, companies controlling the market sold tickets worth 4.1 billion UAH, which is 20% more than the previous year. 'Killhouse' is based on the true story of the world's first operation to rescue civilians using drones. More than 80% of the roles in the film were played by military personnel and veterans of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The rights to screen the film were sold to Netflix and Kyivstar TV, where it remains among the top viewed titles. The budget for 'Killhouse' was 1.1 million dollars.
