Clear Street has joined the XDC Network as an institutional master node validator. This marks the participation of a traditional financial infrastructure company in the operation of a blockchain network. Clear Street will take on roles such as block validation, ledger maintenance, and participation in network governance. Validators are operational entities that verify transactions and blocks and participate in the consensus process, engaging in the XDC 2.0 consensus with KYC procedures and a requirement of staking 10 million XDC. Clear Street is a New York-based financial infrastructure company managing over 700 institutional clients and approximately $16 billion in client balances. The company has more than 800 employees, with an average daily stock processing volume of about 550 million shares and a nominal daily trading volume of around $28.4 billion. In June, Clear Street executed Bitcoin deposit certificate trades on its platform. The XDC Network is an enterprise-grade open-source EVM-compatible Layer 1, focusing on trade finance and the tokenization of real-world assets. In recent months, several institutional validators, including Animoca Brands and Clearpool, have joined the network.
