Canada to Provide Ukraine with Additional Grain Bags

Canada will provide Ukraine with additional grain bags for temporary storage of crops due to the increased demand caused by Russian attacks on the ports of Greater Odessa. Deputy Minister of Economy and Environment Denis Bashlyk and the Chargé d'Affaires of Canada in Ukraine, Christian Roy, discussed support for agricultural producers and cooperation in several areas, including the supply of temporary storage means for grain and technical assistance. Canada has confirmed its readiness to facilitate the delivery of additional grain bags and expedite procurement and delivery procedures for agricultural producers. Attacks on Odessa's port infrastructure have limited maritime export capabilities and increased the need for storage for the new harvest. The specific number of grain bags and delivery timelines have not been specified. Canada may also provide Ukraine with grant support for gas purchases amounting to 650 million Canadian dollars.
