ASML Advances Next-Generation Lithography Machine Upgrade to Meet Chip Demands of Large Data Centers
ASML plans to collaborate with major customers to develop new solutions for producing cutting-edge chip manufacturing equipment to meet the needs of large data center chips designed by companies like NVIDIA. Currently, ASML's extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines can manufacture chips with a maximum size of about 800 square millimeters. The upcoming next-generation high numerical aperture EUV lithography machines will be capable of producing finer chips, but the chip area will be limited due to the use of smaller mask plates. ASML aims to showcase a trial production line using larger mask plates by 2031 and achieve mass production capabilities by 2033.
