Anthropic Releases Fable 5.1, Enhancing Programming Capabilities and Reducing Costs
Anthropic has launched its artificial intelligence model Fable 5.1, claiming improved performance in programming and scientific tasks, along with cost-effectiveness. In programming, Fable 5.1 excels at handling long and complex tasks, including software project development and code review. Its scientific capabilities have been enhanced to cover experimental design, simulation of experimental results, and the reading of complex charts and data tables. The token pricing for enterprise users remains the same as Fable 5, but the cost for re-calling previously processed information has been reduced by 75%. This aspect can account for more than half of the token usage in long texts and complex tasks, and the price reduction is expected to significantly lower overall operational costs. In terms of safety, Fable 5.1 has upgraded its classifier, improving the accuracy of risk instruction identification and reducing false positives, allowing users in cybersecurity and biology to operate more efficiently. Additionally, Anthropic plans to allow enterprise customers to store the data of the strongest model in their own cloud infrastructure rather than on its servers, while continuing to perform security checks.
