The AI Super Political Action Committee, Leading the Future, has raised $140 million for the 2026 U.S. elections, with major funding coming from executives at OpenAI, Palantir, and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. This amount is close to the $200 million in campaign funds that the cryptocurrency industry invested during the last election cycle. Unlike the cryptocurrency camp, which faced little substantial opposition at the time, AI lobbying is encountering strong resistance from a coalition led by Anthropic. Anthropic has donated $20 million twice to the lobbying organization Public First Action, which, along with affiliated groups, has invested approximately $80 million to mitigate significant risks associated with artificial intelligence.
