As of August 1, 2026, nearly 88,000 Ukrainians have submitted documents to receive a tax rebate, expecting to reclaim 582.5 million UAH from the budget. The tax rebate allows officially employed citizens to recover part of the personal income tax (PIT) paid for certain expenses, including education, mortgage interest, medical services, insurance, and charity. To obtain the rebate, it is necessary to submit an annual declaration of property status and income, along with documents confirming the expenses. The declaration can be submitted until December 31 of the year following the reporting year, allowing for the declaration of expenses from 2025 until December 31, 2026. Common mistakes when submitting the declaration include the absence of payment documents, discrepancies in data, incorrect determination of the amount of expenses, and missing the submission deadline. Since May, the declaration and tax rebate can be processed through the 'Diia' portal.
